Walking through a rainbow’s end
touched by that skeleton of colour
I can slip among my personalities
(orange indigo or green) offer you
now cool now warmer skin
see the dark side of my face
hot flanks red hands
I watch you through curtains of what is not here
read the air that shimmers with your meanings —
even soil relays our charge from feet to feet
earth herself our messenger
one accident: you catch my eye
live lightning tight as rope
scorches through the rainbow
broad gentle colours fuse
to a single blaze of white.
