In Promptu, written in 1779 by Christopher Anstey

You say, my Friend, that every day
Your company forsaking,
In quest of news I haste away,
The Morning Post to take in:

But if nor news nor sense it boast,
Which all the world agree in,
I don’t take in the Morning Post,
The Morning Post takes me in.
