Imagination by Thomas Norton

Imagination is a single star
In the mind’s heaven, that unpeopled
With a pure, high-bred, noble race of thoughts,
Unhusbanded, grows rank abortion, soon
Consumes itself.

From: Norton, Thomas, The Hermit, A Poem, and Miscellaneous Verse, 1872, Smith, Elder & Co.: London, p. 137.
